Sept. 5, 2025—Representatives from Steam Commander visited the staff at Lamkin Elementary School on Sept. 2 to officially announce their Adopt-a-School partnership with the campus.
CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program pairs schools with community organizations and business partners to utilize community resources to strengthen and enrich the quality of education for students.

“With a background as an educator, I realize that the students and staff at Lamkin need us more than some other campuses,” Johnson said. “I’m excited to work alongside the staff at Lamkin to provide what they need and also be of service to the community.”
Jill Brister, Lamkin principal, expressed her gratitude to Steam Commander for their commitment to supporting the campus.
“Lamkin is thrilled and excited to announce a new partnership with Steam Commander,” Brister said. “Through CFISD’s Adopt-a-School initiative, our partnership will foster meaningful connections within the community, allowing us to build a supportive network that enriches learning opportunities for our students. We appreciate the support and look forward to the positive impact this partnership will have on our school community.”
