A. Robison Elementary School staff celebrates being adopted by All-Star Martial Arts on April 17 as part of CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program.

April 17, 2026—Kris Lieder’s family’s past is at Lamkin Elementary School where his great-grandma worked in the cafeteria and his great-grandfather served as a bus driver and maintenance man. His family’s future is at A. Robison Elementary School where his son is currently zoned to attend one day.

Now Lieder, the owner of All-Star Martial Arts, has even stronger ties to both. All-Star Martial Arts officially adopted Lamkin on April 7 and A. Robison on April 17 as part of CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program.

“We love it. Just to be able to be involved and help Cy-Fair is a big thing for us that we feel is important,” Lieder said. “We hope to make life a little easier for the staff, and if life is a little easier for them, they have more time to support the kids.”

The Lieder family would know firsthand the impact that a partnership like this can have on schools. Kris’ wife Rachel taught at multiple CFISD schools including Lamkin. Now, Lamkin Principal Jill Brister is excited to see the impact the Lieders can continue to have through the Adopt-a-School program, which allows local business and organizations to partner with CFISD campuses and invest into them with their time, energy, and resources.

“Their commitment to our students and staff reflects a strong dedication to community partnership and making a positive impact,” Brister said. “Through their kindness and involvement, they help create meaningful opportunities and experiences that enrich our school.”

At both schools’ adoption ceremonies, the Lieders provided breakfast for staff. It’s those types of gestures that come from the Adopt-a-School program that can provide a huge boost in morale on a campus.

“Teachers need that extra love. There’s a lot of hard work, sweat and tears that go into the job,” A. Robison Principal Kelly Gerletti said. “Just to be recognized and acknowledged for the work they do is huge to the whole staff. We’re very grateful.”

All-Star Martial Arts is located within four miles of both Lamkin and A. Robison, and with the Lieders’ ties to both schools, it made these two adoptions extra special.

“Their devotion to giving back is admirable,” Gerletti said. “It was really cool to hear their story. I’m super excited we’ve got a future Rocket coming our way.”
