Lamkin Elementary School second grade student Mila Bailey’s artwork titled “Hot Cocoa Friends” was selected to be displayed at the TAEA Youth Art Month Exhibit at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin during the month of March.
Feb. 24, 2025—Two pieces of art from two CFISD students were selected to be part of the 2025 Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) Youth Art Month Exhibit at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin.
Cypress Creek High School senior Ana Gonzalez and Lamkin Elementary School second grade student Mila Bailey had their works selected out of the eight submitted by CFISD for the exhibit.
“I am incredibly proud of our two talented students whose artwork has been selected for exhibition at the Bullock Texas State History Museum—an outstanding achievement in a competitive process,” said Lee Carrier, visual arts coordinator. “This recognition highlights their creativity, dedication and hard work, and I’m grateful to the teachers who supported and inspired them. I hope their success encourages greater advocacy and investment in arts education, which fosters creativity, confidence and critical thinking. I look forward to celebrating their achievements at the awards ceremony on March 9 and I thank the TAEA jury panel for this opportunity to showcase the power of the arts in education.”
Cypress Creek High School senior Ana Gonzalez’s artwork titled “Rusty Pipes” was selected to be displayed at the TAEA Youth Art Month Exhibit at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin during the month of March.
The exhibit showcases pre-K through 12th grade works of art from across the state of Texas as part of Youth Art Month, which is celebrated during the month of March. Youth Art Month is a nationally recognized program that emphasizes the value of art education for all children, encourages support for quality art programs and promotes the importance of art appreciation for all people.
